Time for another haul! This time, I went shopping at The Gap, Express, & Aldo. I was on the lookout for a dressy top to wear while I’m pregnant because none of my nice clothes fit me anymore. Now I’m not planning on going anywhere fancy while I’m pregnant, but you never know what might pop up (like the engagement party I had to go to, or someone’s birthday party that I have to attend) so I have to be ready. I decided since it’s my daughter’s birthday party this weekend, I would go out and buy a nice dressy top to wear so I don’t look all dull in front of all the parents and friends. I knew I would have to stop at Express, where I found a lot of really nice clothes since they were just introducing their winter collection, and I figured I’d stop in The Gap to see what they had since it’s been FOREVER since I’d last been in there. I managed to find some great items that I just had to share with you all in a Haul.
First up, I bought two tops from The Gap that I thought looked great on me and were reasonably priced. They are both the same top in two different colors, a deep maroon one and a turquoise one (which is my favorite). They are called the Twist Petal tee since they have a little twisty thing on one side of the top which gives it nice touch. I liked it because it gave me the room I needed for The Bump (and it’s made of stretchy fabric so it’ll expand as the baby grows) without it looking like I was wearing maternity clothes; I felt it gave me a very sexy look. And after the baby I can still wear the tops like I would any other without having to worry that they’ll be outstretched, which is perfect. They were priced at $29.50 each.
Next up I went to Express, which was just setting up its holiday decorations and putting out their winter collection and I just wanted to buy so many things there I wish I had more money! I would have to say that I might go back there and buy their new scarves, which look so pretty and the style is different which I adore (I wish I had taken a picture for you all to see). The good thing about Express right now is that they sent everyone these discount cards where if you spend, say, $150, then you’ll get $50 off the purchase (for $120, you’d get $40 off) so I definitely made use of that.
Here we have a black top with frilly, sheer sleeves that felt very “flowy” and comfortable. It didn’t clinch me anywhere or feel tight, which is a plus and it’s definitely something I can wear post-baby. The top was priced at $29.90 but with the discount it was only $19.91.
This top is in magenta/purple and it has one of those hanging fronts with the extra fabric, which I love on dress tops because it exposes some chest, but not too much. Also there is an added appearance of a tank top with lace underneath so you don’t show too much at all, which is great for women who like to be a little more conservative. Again it’s a stretchy fabric that held up in all the right places making it very nice on my body. It was priced at $29.90 but is currently on sale for $19.99, and with the added discount it was $14.99.
I’ve been wanting to get one of these sweaters for some time now but I couldn’t find a nice enough one that would look good going out so I was happy when I saw this hanging on the rack. It has a touch of silver added on to the gray which makes it look dressy so it’ll be perfect with one of my new tops and a pair of dark leggings. It also has pockets in the front that aren’t too distracting that it would take away from the prettiness of the sweater and it comes with a belt. My only complaint about this sweater is that the sleeves are a little tight around the wrist area, making it cling to your lower arm and hand like a glove. It didn’t bother me too much because I wouldn’t be wearing anything thick under there anyways, but I thought I’d let you all know just to keep in mind. This was originally priced at $69.90 but with this discount it was only $23.95.
My last piece from Express is this simple yet very pretty 3/4″ sleeved knit dress in black. It has a V neck, which is my favorite neckline, because I am oddly fond of my boobs (and proud of it!), and an empire waistline. I prefer empire waistlines because it gives you the “flowy” feeling from the chest down which is great when you’re pregnant. I love that it hugs me in the right place and lets me breathe in others. Also, since it’s made of knitted material and with longer sleeves it’s a perfect dress to wear in the colder months. And if you don’t want to wear it as a dress you could slip on some leggings and wear it as a cute top. They also had many other colors like gray, striped, and blue, but I figured the black one looked best on me. It was originally priced at $49.50 but with the discount it was $33.24.
Finally, I decided to take a peek inside Aldo and see if they had any nice boots for cheap (personally, I try not to spend more than $100 for any pair of boots, which mostly means I hardly ever get boots, haha, but when I find a nice pair for cheap, I’m on it!) and I saw this very cute pair of brown leather boots. They have a nice little belt-like wrapping around the top and the inside is faux fur-lined which you can fold down to expose and once I tried it on, I loved it. I’m not a big fan of Ugg boots and I try to find boots with some kind of detail on them to stay as far away from the design of Uggs as I can, but since I was really feeling like I could use another pair of boots, I was on the lookout for a nice, reasonably priced pair. These boots, called Beardsley, were priced at $70, which isn’t bad for a pair of boots from Aldo (since they’re a little pricier than Macy’s or other shoe stores) so I bought them and I can’t wait to wear them.
So let me know what you think of my items in the comments and also if you enjoy my hauls and all that. Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, when I have money that is, so it’s nice to be able to share it so others can see and maybe get some ideas. I love getting comments and feedback (like if you think I describe the items well enough) so don’t be shy!
