Hooray! In this week’s entry of The Bump Tales, I’m officially 7 months pregnant! Only a little over 2 months left and I get to meet my precious new baby. I’m so excited! How does my BUMP look to you?!?! Is it getting bigger? People keep saying I’m getting too big.
This week I had to go to my monthly OB/GYN appt and this time it was at a new doctor’s office. The office itself is pretty nice, clean and quaint. The receptionist was okay, got right to the point as I had A LOT of paperwork to fill out and was nice enough. The nurses were alright too, even though some acted like they didn’t want to be there, the one working on me was very nice and friendly. The doctor did take FOREVER to come in though and we only met for like 15-20 minutes! After the slew of questions about my history, health, and lab work, we listened to the heartbeat and she examined me and I was out. I have to admit, as patients go, I’m a doctor’s dream. I don’t have any current health problems, no past, social, or family history of disease or illness (knock on wood!) and I’m pretty chill about everything. This practice is run by 8 doctors though and their rule is that a patient needs to meet with each doctor at least once so they’re familiar with them because any of them can deliver the baby according to who is on call when you go in, so I thought that was different and pretty nice because I did want to know who my doctor was since at my own place I saw I different doctor every time and I don’t even remember any of their names or the doctor who delivered my first daughter.
I was a little worried after reading one of my weekly pregnancy newsletters. It talked about warning signs for preterm labor like menstrual-like cramps, dull/low backache, increased vaginal discharge, and abdominal cramping. After reading it, I realized I had all those symptoms! Boy, did that freak me out. So of course, I had to talk to the doctor about it. She said I’m just experiencing a lot of pelvic pressure from the growth of the uterus and the baby and that as long as the contractions aren’t coming like 4 every hour then I’m good. My cervix is still closed and long so everything looks good down there, I guess I just got to suck it up and take the pain and aches that come with pregnancy.
– Feeling the baby kick (punch?!?!) & move around closer to the pelvic area recently and it is not a pretty picture. Not only does it make me want to pee more but a couple of times it even hurt a little! Makes me worry that I might be crushing her if I don’t sit or lay right, but hopefully everything’s good.
– Starting to feel pretty beat and tired lately, which sucks because I’ll be working more soon now until the baby is born. If only I was the type of person to take naps.
