Review: Patemm Pad

December 6, 2010 Reviews 4

Changing pads are an essential item for every mother and we’re all out there searching for one that can hold all we need for the quick and difficult diaper changes, one that is easy to carry around & not bulky, and one that looks good. Well, Patemm has got you covered there! Grace Welsh is a fabulous Mompreneur who developed the Patemm Pads, a unique & stylish ROUND diaper changing pad.

Each changing pad measures 30″ and it folds up nicely into a square with four handles for moms to carry around. They also have little pockets for you to store diapers and wipes so it’ll be the only thing you need to carry with you to the bathroom, that and the baby of course!

Their collection is made of “eco-friendly, PVC-free, and stylish prints in CPSIA certified laminated cotton, 100% regular cotton, and 100% Certified Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) cotton. All pads are made with our custom signature chocolate brown trim and sewn-in polyester batting and still PROUDLY MADE IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA!” Their prints are very chic and adorable, most are gender-neutral, with some gender-specific colors also. Their products range from $63-88.00, which is a little steep for changing pads, I know, but the quality and versatility of these products are so worth it, you’ll be able to use it over and over again for all your babies.

I actually bought one of their original pads over 6 years ago for my firstborn daughter and I loved it to pieces. It was the “new thing” out in the mommy world at the time and I’m a sucker for trying out new and innovative products. It was such a great buy and I continued to use it until she was out of diapers without any wear or tear and I was never unsatisfied with how the product worked for me.

Recently, I had the pleasure of testing one of their newer and most popular pads in their collection and I have to admit I LOVE it even more. This print is called “The San Francisco Momma” and it’s in a nice beige color with a pink print, perfect since I’m expecting another beautiful baby girl (I tested this out on my godson and friend’s baby while I babysat them). What I loved most about the changing pad was that it was so lightweight, even after stuffing a couple diapers on one side, a travel box of wipes on another side, and some face towels in the corner pockets. It was a little bulky after all that (but still not heavy), I’ll admit, but everything fits in so neatly and with the handle, it was really all I needed to take with me when I had to change diapers at the mall (who doesn’t go to the mall this time of year) or at my friend’s house. I used a regular bag, not a diaper bag, to hold this pad along with some bottles, extra diapers, and clothes though so it fit snugly, but I suppose for regular diaper bags, you might have to carry this along in addition, but you don’t have to worry about anything falling out or getting lost that you can pop it right under your stroller or hang it on a handle.

I also really liked how big it was and the shape. You know how dirty or unsanitary those public changing tables can be so I was glad this pad could basically cover most of the table and it’s bigger than the baby for most parts so there’s room for the baby to squirm around without worrying that he’ll touch the changing table. And as an added bonus, the pad is so easy to fold up and close I could do it with one hand, which you know is MUST for any functional mom out there! Even my husband found it easy to use and was very pleased with it. Being that the shape is round instead of the conventional rectangle, I kept getting compliments and questions about where I’d gotten it and how chic & modern it looks, so you know this will definitely be a hit with all your friends and family.

If you love them as much as I do, check out their Facebook page and give them a “Like”. They do giveaways and discounts for all their fans so it doesn’t hurt be a fan!
