Could this be? Time for another episode of The Bump Tales already?!?! Time sure does fly! Sometimes March 8th feels like it’s a lifetime away and other times I feel like it’s right around the corner. I’ve been telling myself to enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy because once the baby comes, things will change forever.
So this week was a little bit of a drag because I caught a cold at the beginning of the week. I don’t know if it’s because I went to the mall, Babies ‘R Us, BJ’s, or wherever; but I caught those germs from somewhere and I’ve been paying for it ever since. It has been quite awhile since I’ve been sick and I was really trying to go this whole pregnancy without getting sick, but I guess that’s a FAIL now. Luckily, it’s only a cold, which doesn’t affect the baby, and I just have to suck it up and let my body do the work. I’ve avoided any and all medications this whole pregnancy, except stuff for my constipation (sigh), so I definitely don’t want to start now. Hopefully, drinking plenty of water and OJ will help me fight off this cold so I can be all well again next week. The worse part of it all is the nights, man my nose gets all stuffed and runny and I can’t ever seem to find a comfortable position, which was hard to do in the first place since I’m so big now. Also, the coughing and sneezing is a nightmare because everytime I do, my stomach/uterine muscles contract so that is very uncomfortable!
The Hubbi has been a great support though, helping me out as much as he can, and I’ve really enjoyed sharing this pregnancy with him. With BG1, we weren’t living together, so he wasn’t there for a lot of the stuff that happened during pregnancy, but he’s here now, and sees all that I go through and tries his best to make it better for me. I don’t know, I think I might have picked a good one here, haha.
Anyways, BG2 is still very active, I suppose she’s still on the night schedule, being the most active right before I go to sleep, but she’s also moving around and nudging me plenty of times during the day. I definitely have to enjoy this while it lasts, even thought sometimes I want to just hand the baby over to The Hubbi, it is one of the things only women can experience and enjoy, so I’m enjoying it!
Ugh, the feet have started to swell more, even when I wake up, and I find it hard to find comfortable shoes to wear. It’s a good thing I stay home for 3 days during the week, other than that I try to squeeze into my sneakers, and even a couple times, I had to suck it up and (yikes) wear my SIL’s Uggs because nothing else would fit. I try to think that it’s for the best and that one day, when BG2 is like 3-4 years old, I can sit her down and say “You know how much I love you? I had to wear Uggs for you!” and then she’ll be like “I don’t know what Uggs are Mom” (haha).
– I’ve been having numbness and tingling all over my body lately and it’s been a drag. Sometimes it’s my hands or feet, especially when they swell, but most of the time is my upper right chest. The “experts” say it’s normal so I kind of just have to wait for it to pass. It’s more of a bother than anything else and I try to rest in bed and all that, but laying down is hard enough as it is so that’s not too comfy for me, plus I always have something to do so it’s not that much of an option for me. Sigh, just gotta deal with it.
– I went out and bought the rest of the stuff I’ll be needing for BG2 over the weekend, spent like $500, but it was a lot of stuff, and on sale too. Although I find myself missing things I wanted or maybe even slightly needed (may help me out more), I think I’m good to go. I still have to wash all the new clothes and towels I bought and prepare all the bags and bins for the “month at home” ritual we Asians like to do after the baby is born, but everything’s coming together nicely.
