The Bump Tales – Week 36

February 10, 2011 The Bump Tales 1

Yay! It’s time for another entry in my pregnancy diary, The Bump Tales! Double Yay! I’m finally 36 weeks, or 9 months, and I’m anxiously & eagerly awaiting the arrival of BG2. At the end of this week I’ll be officially full term so here’s hoping there will be minimal to no complications and that BG2 is going to come out and grow up healthy and happy.

This week also means I’ve started my weekly visits to the OB/GYN. Luckily, there’s four of them so they won’t get too tired of seeing me every week, haha. I had my appt on Monday and everything went well, even though there were a few kinks in the process. To start off, I had to do the usual “pee in a cup” thing, but while I was in the bathroom I started peeing and realized I didn’t even have the cup in my hand! Thankfully, I realized it just in time and managed to get a smidgen of pee into the cup for the nurse to do the dipstick test. I think I was in a daze because I had just woken up from a nap (the very few I do take) and wasn’t fully awake yet. Then, for some reason, the doctors only had ONE fetal heart monitor laying around so they had to share it back and forth so there was a lot of going in & out through all the rooms! Speaking of which, it’s usually pretty easy to find BG2‘s heartbeat but she wasn’t cooperating much that day and kept moving around. We manged to get a faint, although healthy, heartbeat in the end and she was very active, so that’s always a good sign.

I also had my first internal that day, as well as the GBS test, and the doctor says the baby’s head is down (which is great because I remember BG1 took FOREVER to turn and didn’t do it until the very end, haha) and that I’m still closed and tight, so no baby yet (thank goodness, I suppose). I’m guessing since my first pregnancy was so normal that maybe this one will be too, although everyone (and their MOM) keeps telling me that I look like I’m going in any day now! I am getting quite tired of all the pregnancy remarks and keep thinking how I’d like to enjoy my last few weeks of pregnancy in peace, please. But, going to work makes that impossible so here’s hoping I don’t lose it and blow up at a customer, haha.

New This Week:

– I’ve been more tired lately, falling asleep at any time and actually getting some naps in, which is SO not me. It might be because I’m recovering from being sick or that the baby is just making me more tired, but I’ve honestly been so lazy (hence, the absence from the blog) all I want to do is stay in bed all day & night, haha. But, my work is never done and I find myself doing something or other everyday!
– My feet have begun to swell on the daily now, and I’m guessing it’ll stay that way until the Labor Day, which is a step up from last time when they were swollen since I was 5 months. Of course, it doesn’t help that I don’t have comfortable shoes and I have to squeeze my feet into tight socks and sneakers, but what can I do now?!?!
– Acid reflux is, yet again, kicking my butt, but in a more gruesome way. It’s like all day, everyday now! I honestly don’t know how much more of the burning and regurgitation I can take!
BG2 looks to me like she may have dropped just a little as the top of my belly doesn’t seem so squished to my boobs anymore. I did notice that I have been peeing more, like every 2 hours, so it might not be just my imagination. Belly button is still in though, which will probably be the case until Labor Day, where it might just be flat (I have a VERY deep innie!).

Aw look at your bump!! 🙂 The acid reflux is kicking my butt too. I can't get enough of my good ol buddy "Mr. Tums" these days! Especially at night!
