Blogging 101: How to Make a Scrolling List

May 31, 2011 Advice Corner 2

If you’re like me, there’s a lot of things you want to show off but there’s onli so many things you can put on your sidebar before it starts looking like a crazi mess!

That’s why I love the Marquee option (scrolling list). With this simple little code I”m able to show off all the cute little buttons of some of my favorite bloggers and I recently added this feature to the “My Family” section on my left sidebar because I’ll be filling that up with monthly pictures of BG2 and her Picky Sticky stickers (love ’em).

If you find your sidebar a little cluttered and want to add this nifty code to your blog, here’s what you have to do:

1. Go to “Design” -> “Page Elements” on your Blogger dashboard, select “Add a Gadget” and click on “HTML/Javascript”.
2. Paste the following code into the empty box that comes up:

<marquee behavior=”scroll” direction=”up” onmouseover=”this.stop();” onmouseout=”this.start();”>Your Stuff Here</marquee>

3. Then add whatever you want in between the code (highlighted in RED), be it buttons, pictures, or whatever!
4. Click Save and you’re done.

Voila! Nice & simple!
