Review: Heely’s

September 6, 2011 Reviews 0

Ever since Heely’s first came out, I always wanted to try them out! Kids seem to have so much fun with them and I’ve seen them in shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and thought, “Cool!” So I was super excited to get the chance to review a pair for my daughter!

Of course, she had to pick sparkly shoes (Sassy 7656)! Once they came in, she was in awe. After her dad put it together, which was a quick and easy assembly, I might add, BG1 took it for a test drive and even though it was hard to maneuver at first, she’s slowly getting the hang of it and with the help of her dad, she’s loving these shoes!

Since BG1 has never really skated, she was a bit scared at first and I admit I didn’t realize it was that hard to learn how to use these shoes, but it’s really all about finding your balance and skating with just your heels. BG1 is becoming more confident with these shoes and she’s having so much fun with them, and I love that they’re so stylish. Safety isn’t really an issue here as BG1 could easily press her foot down to stop rolling, but I do recommend having some sort of support the first few times you’re trying the shoes because it’s a completely new feeling you’ll have to get used to. The shoes seem to fit her great, they’re comfortable, and flexible, which is excellent since kids are always running around and so active. I definitely love how she’s so eager to wear them and practice using them with her daddy, and it’s become a nice little activity they do together.

Another thing I love is that the Heely’s website includes a bunch of How To videos where you can learn to assemble the shoes and proper techniques for skating with them. Once you’ve mastered the basic technique, they’ve also got videos for some fancy footwork if you’re interested in learning that.

Heely’s are great shoes, something fun and stylish your kids will enjoy, and I’m highly anticipating her rolling and running around with them on her own!
