We FINALLY get a glimpse of The Hunger Games movie. Yay!
Definitely one of my favorite books, I was very eager to see how the movie industry would portray this epic series. From what I saw, they seem to be doing a pretty good job.
Wow! Just wow! That trailer sure stirred up a whole bunch of emotions for me. The sadness, the sacrifice, the action – love it all. I think they did a great job of introducing the story, especially for people who have never read the books. When I saw Katniss sacrifice herself to save Prim, it was SO sad! The training scenes were wicked too, I loved seeing Cato and when Katniss shot that arrow, awesome! Poor, cute little Rue!
Oh, when they started counting down for The Games to begin, I was literally holding my breath! So intense! That’s the part I wanna see the most, and they were right to keep that part a secret for now. What I loved most about the first book was the actual game, so I’m very excited to see how they recreate it all. Loving Rue’s melody at the end.
I can see myself getting all kinds of hype over this movie and I’ll definitely be going through an emotional roller coaster when I watch it in March, haha.
A really great trailer that gave just the right amount of scenes and information to entice everyone. March 23rd can’t come soon enough!
I’m not really a big fan of who they chose for Katniss, didn’t really see Jennifer Lawrence as her, but she seems to be playing the character very well. Innocent, yet strong and determined. Personally, I would’ve liked to see Arielle Kebbel play Katniss, but I’m not complaining. After watching the trailer like 10 times, she’s starting to grow on me, haha.
Oh, Gale! They did an great job with casting his character. Liam Hemsworth is quite a tasty dish, isn’t he? I always pictured Gale as a strong, built guy and I loved seeing him and Katniss together in the trailer. So sweet and I remember when I was reading the books, I was really rooting for him.
Don’t really like who they chose for Peeta. I definitely didn’t see Josh Hutcherson in my mind, but he does give a sort of innocence and kindness that is apart of the character, which I guess the directors liked. Plus, he’s not that cute and you want your leading man to be cute now! Let’s see how he does when the movie comes out.
Come on now! I pictured Effie Trinket so much cuter and daintier than that! I actually loved the idea of Elizabeth Banks playing her, although I think Kristin Chenoweth would’ve been just as good, but they made her look so old and weird. Maybe that’s the effect they were going for because it is The Capitol after all, but not liking her look.
Very surprised at Lenny Kravitz playing Cinna, but I love that character so much and from the little bit of him that they showed, I will love him playing Cinna. I smiled when I saw him support Katniss when the games were about to start. Yay Cinna!
I also didn’t mind them casting Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, I pictured someone a lot older, but whatever. What I don’t like is that hair on him. Long hair is definitely not a good look for you Woody! Not at all (although, really, there are few, if any guys out there who can pull off long hair)! You’re not Fabio!
