Ah, the solid food stage! A fun and challenging time for parents and babies alike.
BG2 is 8 months old now and we started her on solid foods when she was about 4-5 months. At first it was just the Gerber Rice Cereal, then the Gerber baby food, and now we started making homemade baby food, a mix of rice powder, chicken broth, and veggies (a Vietnamese recipe/style that, thankfully, my mom prepares for her). She loves it!
She eats a mix of all those things nowadays, and you can’t stop the girl. If you’ve got a utensil around her, her reaction will be to open her mouth, ready and waiting for you to give her some of whatever yummy food you’ve got there.
Anyways, in searching for proper utensils and tools to help with this baby stage, and came across the Boon Squirt Spoon. Such a clever little tool! I fell in love with it instantly and was lucky enough to have the chance to review it. Boon, Inc. has such unique and cute products for babies, I just wanted to get everything!
The Squirt Spoon is so easy to use and so practical, you’d be crazy not to get one. The name speaks for itself! It’s basically a baby food dispenser with a spoon head attached to it. The spoon comes in two parts, the spoon part, which has a hole at the top where the baby food can be dispensed, and the handle where you can pour the baby food in. It even comes with a cap so you don’t have to worry about accidentally squeezing the spoon and making a mess.
Very easy to use and clean. I love taking it with me when I’m out because I can easily put some food in it and give it to the baby when she’s hungry. Just one thing to carry around, instead of lugging around containers, spoons, napkins, etc in addition to all that other stuff you need to carry around for babies. Perfect for any parent on-the-go or great at home.
I love having everything right there in one place, not having to dig for more baby food at the bottom of the container, and not having food spill over because the spoon is insanely too small. With the Squirt, you can squeeze any desired amount onto the spoon and feed your hungry baby without a mess or worries. It also makes for a great toy, considering how much BG2 loves holding it and nomming on the spoon, without the worry of choking.
Priced at just $9.99 and in a variety of cute colors, there isn’t any reason why you wouldn’t get this. This little tool has easily become one of my favorite items and I’d highly recommend it to any and all moms.
