It is getting more and more difficult to get a good picture of this little busy-body. She is always on the move or squirming away from us. So much energy and excitement, we can barely keep up!
In addition to crawling around like a maniac, BG2 loves cruising (walking around while holding on to things) and will often work her way around the coffee table trying to grab anything and everything she can. My floor is littered with remote controls, video games, and toys that we refuse to pick up because she’ll just throw them on the floor right after anyways. It’s like a minefield at my house.
She’s definitely picking up on our cues and learning the meaning to the word “NO”. She will, however, continue to do what she wants, but she looks at us to see our reactions and if we look angry she’ll often move onto something else to avoid any drama. Smart girl!
Christmas was good for us, very uneventful though since we didn’t really celebrate it this year. BG2 got a bunch of toys, which she doesn’t seem interested in at all. I’m guessing it’s because we never bought her any toys since she was born, basically playing with whatever old toys BG1 had and just stuff around the house that interests her. She’s too cool for baby toys evidently! I don’t know what I’ll do with those toys now because there’s no gift receipts (hate it when that happens)!
But anyways, it’s really hard to get anything done with this girl around because she always wants me to pick her up. Ordinarily, I’m not a sucker for crying and would usually let a baby cry it out or distract them with toys or something, but I guess because I’ve been away from her for so long, I can’t help but cave whenever she cries and spoil her. It’s good for her, but VERY bad for my productivity. It’s a good thing it’s the end of the year and I’m too lazy to do much of anything anyways. There’s always next year…or next week, rather!
