Yes, BG2 has finally mastered the art of clapping. It was a questionable task for a minute there. She was flailing her arms back and forth in a crazy way for a long time now, but this week her gross motor skills have fine-tuned a bit and you can actually hear the clapping sound. Yay! She seems to be very proud of this herself, smiling radiantly and clapping away whenever we say clap in Vietnamese, or say “Yay”. It’s so cute.
She has also started taking a step or two here and there, albeit, a bit shakily. She can stand pretty well and we often prop her up and then try to get her to take a step, because we know she’s dying to master this skill so she can have greater mobility to terrorize the house. I swear, it’s like a war zone or minefield here, game cartridges and DVD cases everywhere! The girl likes everything to be on the floor and not neatly put away on shelves. Don’t even get me started on drawers and cabinets; it’s like she’s they’re magnets she’s inexplicably drawn to. But, yes, she can cruise around the house with ease nowadays, although there are the occasional falls, but she usually lands on her cushy bottom. Anymore than a step or two and you’ll find her walking on her toes though, which is cute and if I remember correctly, a common occurrence with babies.
She has finally sprouted that elusive upper, front tooth (right side), so now we can’t call her a “vampire baby” anymore. Still waiting for the left one to come in, but for now, we’re enjoying her goofy grins.
