Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

Oh, after hearing the rave reviews and endless praise for this book, how could I not give it a read?! And I’m pleased to say this book did not disappoint. Evie’s hilarious and entertaining character drew me in from the very first page. I love how addicted she is to this teen drama show, Easton Heights, a shared love with her best friend Lish, who happens to be a mermaid. For someone with such a serious job and who is pretty much cut off from the world, she’s very down-to-Earth and is pretty much your typical teenage girl. I also loved how her favorite color is pink, she even has a pink Taser that she uses for missions, love it! She’s truly a kickass girl, yet also a girly girl who loves to shop and dreams of love. Such an awesome character!

WHat I also enjoyed was how Kiersten took all we thought we knew about paranormals like mermaids, vampires, and pixies and gave it a very real spin. They’re not as mystical and beautiful as we think they are! She does it in a way that funny and unique, while also staying true to some myths. Evie plays an important part in what’s happening now to the paranormals around the world, and her ability to see through glamours comes in handy and you’ll see exactly how by the end of the book. I like how Kiersten leaves us guessing, but not for long since I hate authors who drag out the mystery until the very end, all the while filling the book with fluff. Paranormalcy kept me entertained, often laughing at times, and thoroughly engrossed. I couldn’t get enough!

Awesome, awesome debut novel Kiersten! This book is definitely going on my shelf, I’d highly recommend it to all fans of paranormal novels, or anyone who is looking for a fun, interesting read, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the story goes. Loved it!
