You heard that right! As of this moment, at least until the end of the year, I cannot/will not buy any more books!
Why, you ask?!
Well, for one thing, my TBR pile is GINORMOUS! I will update this post with a picture (probably on Wednesday) of all the physical books I still need to read, not to mention the ton I have on my kindle. Seriously, it’s getting out of hand. Although not as bad as others I’ve seen, I feel like I need to clear this pile before I can add more to it, guilt-free. It’s gonna be tough since there are some amazing titles releasing this year and some that are already out that I’m dying to have. Also, most of my Twitter feed screams new & exciting books, but I must fight the urge and resist!
For another thing, and this is the biggie, I’m SUPER broke! Sigh, with me still in school, NOT WORKING, a one-person income simply isn’t enough to support a four-person family & feed my obsession. So I must not give into temptation and think of the greater good, you know, like food and clothes for those two offspring I just had to have! Not to mention the endless stream of bills that will serious be the death of us.
C’est la vie!
There is, however, one exception: Jennifer L. Armentrout. If you know me at all, you would know that she is my all-time, favorite author and since she has FIVE awesome books + a novella coming out this year, I managed to swing a deal with the Hubbi that I would ONLY buy her books. I just have to! Seriously people, if you haven’t read any of her books yet, you need to get on that because she will literally change your lives!
B-t-dubs, I am SUPER excited that Jen will be in PA not one, but TWO times in August for YA Fest & PAYA. Fan-freaking-tastic! I can’t wait to finally meet her and I only hope I don’t scare her off with my awkwardness.
Anyways, the good thing is I can focus on the books I do have, which is really more than enough to keep me busy for the rest of the year. And I do have a couple of local friends who are super popular bloggers with awesome books that I can hopefully borrow from, if I feel the itch.
