One Line: A refreshing romance with charming characters that I really enjoyed.

About the Book: Danielle and Wes have been best friends since college, so when Wes needs a date for his sister’s wedding and Dani needs a partner for her company’s retreat, they devise the perfect plan: a fake engagement to get through both events unscathed. Adrenaline-junkie Wes can prove to both his ex and his family that he’s well and truly moved on, and serious-minded Dani can prove to her boss that she’s worthy of the promotion he seems to only want to give to a family-oriented employee.

But amid the fake swoons, fake kisses, and forced proximity, neither expects the very real feelings that develop. There’s nothing more dangerous than falling for your best friend…but what if the landing is worth the fall?

The whole “friends falling in love” thing has been done before, but not quite as awesome as Cindi Madsen has done. I really enjoyed everything about Falling for Her Fiance. The plot was entertaining and the characters were charming. What I loved about this was that it wasn’t just about the romance, but about a true friendship, a real loving relationship that after getting to know these two characters, made me wish I had a friend like that.

Wes and Dani are the best of friends. They definitely defied the whole “guys and girls can’t be JUST friends” theory for as long as possible. I really loved their relationship. They supported each whole-heartedly and they really balanced each other out. They had a lot of things in common and always pushed each other to do better and to step out of their comfort zones. When they decide to help each other out with a fake engagement, they definitely didn’t think it would stir up feelings they didn’t know they had for each other. I liked seeing the romance blossom, but also seeing how much they each valued their friendship. Also, that they were stable, interesting, independent characters with their own dreams and passions as well. Dani is focused on her career and making it on her own, and Wes is trying to live his dream of flying helicopters and eventually owning his own business. I always say a good romance novel has to have substance, and this one certainly has that.

The flow of this book was great. I was never bored and there wasn’t anything frivolous or fluffy about it. The plot was definitely done well and things came together nicely. I liked that even though you kind of figure they’ll end up together, there are still moments where you wonder if they really will. There were definitely times when I was like “Just go for it already!”, but I totally understood and appreciated how things played out and I was pretty satisfied overall. I felt like this book was more about the characters than the actual romance, which made me love it even more.

Falling for Her Fiance is a highly captivating romance that will have you rooting for the couple from the start. I easily found myself flipping through the pages and reading with a smile on my face (I love it when that happens). A very light and fun read, you certainly don’t want to miss out on this gem.

I adored this book too. The “friends to lovers” trope is one of my favorites. And like you, I had moments when I wondered if Wes and Dani would ever get together.
    Great review!
