Title: Chasing Mrs. Right (Come Undone #2) [Goodreads][Amazon]
Author: Katee Roberts
Publisher: Entangled Brazen
Release Date: March 25, 2013
In My Opinion: Worth a try!
One Line: I have to say, I really loved the chase!
About the Book: It was only supposed to last one night…
Ian had no idea the sexy woman he took to his bed was his little sister’s best friend–or that she’d refuse to give him more than one night.
Good thing this soldier likes a challenge…
Chasing Mrs. Right is a fun, sexy read and I can tell you right off the bat that I seriously enjoyed the chase. Everything seemed a bit rushed, but it flowed smoothly. I loved the dialogue between the two main characters, Roxanne and Ian, although Roxanne kind of bugged me as far as female characters go. There also wasn’t much of climax, in the story line sense, at least, but it was like a few minor ups and downs, and then “the end”. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, per say, but you should just know that going in. You’ll get an entertaining story of a guy chasing a girl, mixed with some steamy scenes, in this book, but that’s pretty much it.
I have to admit, I didn’t really like Roxanne very much. I understood why she is the way that she is, given her troubled past, but still, she was so quick to fault Ian for things he had no control over or even misjudge him without getting the full story, it kind of bugged me. Ian was dealing with a lot of his own personal issues, and Roxanne basically made everything about her. She never really thought about what he might be going through or being there for him, and I didn’t like that at all. Luckily, a little over halfway through the story, she sees the error of her ways and I give her credit for jumping outside of her comfort zone to show him how much she loves him and wants to be with him.
Ian was a great character right from the start. He does have some issues, but when it was him and Roxanne, he was sensational. His chasing Roxanne throughout the book was definitely a fun experience and I loved the first scene they had together, which involves an elevator. Whew, how can you not be intrigued by a guy like that?! I do feel like the relationship was a bit rushed, but I let it go on Ian’s side because of the way that Roxanne affected him (and if you read the book, you’ll see what I mean). If you notice exactly how Roxanne changes his life, it’s not hard to see why he won’t let her go. I loved how he accepted Roxanne for all her flaws and insecurities, and called her out on all her BS. He knew what he wanted and he knew she had trust/relationship issues, so he worked hard to prove to her that he cared and that love really can work out. Their banter was exceptionally funny and witty. I’ll just say this, “Unicorns”. LOL!
Even though you could totally read this without reading its predecessor/companion novel, Wrong Bed, Right Guy, I still wished I had read that one first. Ian isn’t too fond of his sister’s relationship with her fiance and I kind of wish I knew more about it. But, then again, it’s not like it took anything away from the real plot of the story, that’s just my own personal preference. Chasing Mrs. Right is a decent Brazen title, although I’ve read better, I still enjoyed it.
