One Line: A surprisingly endearing and sweet romance I fell head over heels for.
About the Book: After a year of partying, Sam decides to buckle down and focus on college. Things are going great until a one-night stand leaves her pregnant and alone. Raising a child while going to school isn’t easy, but Sam is determined to be strong for her daughter. She doesn’t have time for guys or relationships, and takes great care to protect her child and her heart.
Judd doesn’t fit the mold of a college ballplayer. His long hair and tattoos may fit the life he’s created for himself, but baseball is the one thing he takes seriously. When he meets Sam, he’s immediately drawn to her curves and refusal to put up with his crap. When Judd learns the truth, can he handle the responsibility that comes with loving a single mother?
Sam yearns for the fire that Judd fuels in her, but her child’s needs have to come first. Can two people at different stages in their life find a way to make a life together?
Indelible is one of those books that grabs you right from the start and keeps you glued to the pages. I really loved this book. What I loved most was how genuine and authentic I thought this story was. The tale of a girl with a kid and a player-type guy who fall in love with each other has easily been done before, but I think Lopez did a great job with keeping it real, especially with Sam’s situation. The pacing of the romance was also believable and it’s hard not to root for these two as a couple.
Judd and Sam’s relationship was sweet, fun, innocent, and sexy. I loved how it progressed how it started simple and evolved into something deeper and more meaningful. Judd is such a sweetheart and I really liked his character. He’s got confidence, charm, good looks, and he’s a baseball player. I’ll admit, I would’ve liked to have seen more of Judd’s player ways to get a better feel of just how much he changes for Sam, but it didn’t make me like the story any less. Judd’s interactions with Karrie were just about the cutest and sweetest moments ever. My heart melted. And Karrie it just too cute. Sam is a great female protagonist, too. She’s very strong and I loved seeing how she handles being a mom and going to school. I liked how cautious she was about introducing Karrie to Judd and how she eventually handled her relationship with Judd.
If you’re looking for a sweet and genuine romance with fun and lovable characters, then Indelible is the book for you. Their romance will definitely capture your heart and leave you with a sense of happiness in the end. And speaking of ends, that ending was so touching, I loved it. Lopez really knows how to sweep you off your feet.
