One Line: I seriously need me a smoking hot cowboy with tight ass jeans like Jesse Walker.

About the Book: There’s optimistic. And there’s Jesse Walker.

If he wasn’t so charming, his sunny disposition and incessant grin would get old. Fast.

Falling in love with the broken girl who had at first seemed immune to anything resembling love was the best thing to happen to Jesse since the Walkers adopted him when he was five.

As Jesse’s life continues at the ranch and Rowen begins making her mark in the Seattle art community, they wonder where the middle ground is. Or if there even is one.

As push comes to shove, they’re forced to make choices neither are eager to make, and Jesse and Rowen have to face what their lives might look like without the other.

Can two people with such tragic pasts and different presents expect a promising future together? Whatever the answer, they’ll need a lot more than love to make it.

A chance to dive back into this hot cowboy-filled world and relive the sweet romance between Rowen and Jesse?! Yes, please! Nicole has gotten me all kinds of worked up with these characters and their love story. Not only that, the secondary characters, like Jesse’s family and Garth, bring so much life and humor to the story. Even though we were barely in Willow Springs in this book, I really enjoyed those moments. Lost & Found told the story of Rowen and Jesse falling in love. Near & Far lets you see if they have what it takes to stay together. Nicole’s writing is outstanding and I can’t begin to tell you how many quotes I loved from this book.

Rowen and Jesse are struggling with their long-distance relationship, Rowen’s blossoming career path, and Jesse’s past. Honestly, long distance is very trying on relationships, it just sucks. I was happy see how Jesse and Rowen made it work. However, when things started getting “tough” and the drama picked up a little, I felt like it was a bit forced. Like, there were some minor issues, but it was blown out of proportions. I guess I wanted to see more depth to their struggles with long distance, they were only apart for a couple months, at most, here and there. Let’s face it, a ton of other couples have to deal with more than that, myself included, but we make it work. Also, with Rowen’s big issue, I thought she handled it just fine, but then got all emotional and weird about it. And, I definitely wanted to see Jesse tackle his past more so than he did. When I learned what really happened to him as a child, I expected there to be more a dramatic resolution to his inner turmoil. If anything though, I’ve got to give him credit for turning out so awesome after such a tragic past. It comes back to bite him in a certain way, but I felt like it could’ve been bigger or maybe I just wanted more of a confrontation. The drama just wasn’t what I was expecting.

I did love the beginning. Their relationship is so sweet and Jesse is such a great guy. There are people who have eyes for each of these two, and I liked the way they handled it and it definitely made me love Jesse more. His character is truly wholesome and genuine. Not only is he good-looking, he’s sweet, nice, a true gentleman, and one heck of sexy beast. I seriously need a hot cowboy of my own just like him!

One thing is certain about this series – it keeps you glued to the pages. Even though there were a few lulls here and there, I was still deeply engrossed in the story and flipped through the pages like a madwoman. This was definitely a great sequel, although I’ll admit, I loved the first book more.

Yes! We need more boys like Jesse. Not all the guys out there are tatted bad boys, come on now! Good boys need love too!

I had some issues with this too but I still really liked it. Although I liked book 1 so much more. I hope this series stops here or else it will just be too much. Looking forward to Garth’s book. And yes, I need me a cowboy like Jesse too!

How did you like N&F? Although I didn’t love it as much as L&F, it was still great and Jesse is as wonderful as ever!
