Title: Off Course (Off Series #4) [Goodreads][Amazon]
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Publisher: Bog Dog Books
Release Date: August 4, 2013
In My Opinion: Must. Read. NOW!
One Line: Easily the best in the series so far, I couldn’t put this one down!
About the Book: Renner Caldwell has her life perfectly mapped out. She has the ideal relationship, the perfect job and all is right in her world. When a shameful turn of events happens, she boards the first plane bound for Ireland to lick her wounds and get her head back on straight.
Cillian O’Braidagh is the sexy, front man to the Irish rock band, Over The Edge. His rising fame and sultry voice make him every woman’s fantasy come true. Not to mention his single-minded determination. To put it simply: what Cillian wants, Cillian always gets. And he wants Renner, because there’s just something about the flame-haired beauty he has to possess.
If their relationship was just about sex and rock n’ roll, it would be easy for them to get lost in their desires. Only their relationship is anything but a hook-up. Will lies, deceit and hidden tragedy get in the way, making the path to true love uncertain? Or will the girl whose been knocked Off Course, find her footing with the man who is teaching her it’s okay to lose control?
I swear, this series just gets better and better with each installment. Off Course blew me away with its intriguing set of characters, clever dialogue, steamy romance, and impeccable writing. You, Sawyer Bennett, are on my list! Every time I read one of her books, I seriously can’t put it down, and I’m smiling the whole time! And yes, you do get a tiny glimpse of some of the characters from the other books and things get set up for the final book in the series, which I’m really dying for. I can’t wait to see how Bennett ties everything together.
While I loved the Caldwell brothers, and Ryan is such a sweetheart, Cillian kills it with his confident attitude, sexy swagger, and irresistible charm. He has easily become my favorite Bennett boy toy! What I loved about Cillian was how real he was. When he and Rowen first meet, he never held anything back. He showed his interest, but respected her, and also kept it real and didn’t hide who he was (you’ll understand what I mean when you read it). They meet again a few years down the line and it was so funny and sweet how they happened upon each other again. I really loved that scene. Throughout the book, I fell in more in love with Cillian. He has such a good heart, really cares for his friends and his band, and stopped at nothing to prove how much he cared for Rowen.
Rowen is a pretty decent female protagonist. I really liked her. I think she balanced out Cillian perfectly and I loved that she didn’t put up with his crap. She always stood toe-to-toe with him and I loved their banter. For her side of the story, Rowen has to figure out what she wants to do with her life and also, mend her broken heart. I enjoyed her story arc and I liked how she handled Cillian’s situation, which eventually causes drama between the two. It’s not often I like being inside a girl’s head, but with Rowen, I really enjoyed it. I loved her sassy attitude and compassion towards others, too.
Off Course is your perfect mix of romance and drama with lovable characters, a true gem in a sea of bland and repetitive NA titles. Each one of the books in the Off series has been excellent, grabbing me right from the first page and never letting me go until the end. If you haven’t read any of them yet, you’re definitely missing out. Sawyer Bennett and her books are not to be ignored!
