He is seeking absolution.
Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex and it’s one of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to save. Because, if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again.
She is seeking escape.
Rowan Page’s life is nothing short of a disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She’s determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life, despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.
Together, they have the chance to become complete.
Flynn and Rowan’s worlds exist miles apart, but when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark eventually flares into a fire so hot, it refuses to be extinguished.
For it to work, both of them will need to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them, despite the risk of being burned.

I knew it! I knew I would love this book just as much as the ones before it, if not more! Sawyer, you’ve done it again! If I haven’t told you before, I now officially swear my this woman’s writing and she is firmly ingrained into the Auto-Buy list! Off Chance is everything I want in an NA title and so much more. You’ve got one heck of a swoon-worthy guy, a headstrong, albeit stubborn girl (trust me, not as bad as others I’ve read in the past), a steady, yet sizzling romance and a slew of lovable secondary characters (including one adorable dog) that will warm your heart the whole time you read this book.
Flynn. Dear, sweet, sexy Flynn! My heart went out to this irresistible guy from the very first page. Once you learn about his past, you can’t help but feel for the guy. Then as you get to know him for who he is now, you can’t help but fall for him, especially when you see all that he does for Rowan as the story progresses. He just may be my favorite Caldwell. As for Rowan, yes, the girl is a bit messed up and has trust/love issues, but it’s understandable given her upbringing, although I’ll admit there were quite a few times I wanted to punch the girl for not getting herself some Flynn action! I mean, seriously?! The fact that he’s a fireman alone makes me want to jump his bones! Hey, that rhymed! Anyways, thankfully, like I said, she didn’t annoy me as much as some other female characters I’ve read about, so that’s a point in her favor, and in Sawyer’s for creating such great characters in general.
Let’s not forget that even though I adore Flynn and Rowan’s story, I’m so over-the-top happy to see Sawyer include all the other characters I fell in love with throughout this amazing series. A few characters play a bigger role than I thought they would, which was great, but by the end, fans of each book will be satisfied to see the whole Caldwell & Burnham gangs, getting a glimpse of where they are in their lives now. It was so fitting and just plain perfect, really, I couldn’t stop smiling. Oh, and that epilogue?! LOVE it! Off Chance was truly a beautiful ending to an unforgettable set of books that I will easily recommend to everyone I know!
