Bookish Events – The Sentinel Release Party

November 19, 2013 Bookish Events 6

This past weekend was crazy awesome because SHP hosted the Sentinel/Frigid Release party in Philly. Not only was nice to see Jen and Kate (from SHP) again, quite a few of my blogger friends showed up, as well as some new ones, and some friends and family came.

A lot of fans came out to this event, many of them came hours before the event even started! Talk about dedicated! SHP was very generous with the prizes of books and swag, too, by the way! I love them! Jen was her usual hilarious self. I have to admit, I’ve been to quite a few events, this has got to be one of my favorites, and that’s partly due to the Q&A part. The fans sure had a ton of interesting and fun questions to ask Jen and I loved her responses. I pretty much live-tweeted the event, so if you’re curious about some of the answers, check out #SentinelinPhilly.

Some of my favorites:

Some of the goodies there included this Sentinel book cake that I had made for Jen. Everyone loved it! Yay!

Jen from Jenuine Cupcakes also made yummy cupcakes with special Covenant themes, which I lovingly helped with, thank you very much! Jena from Shortie-Says also supplied the blow pops (Jen’s favorite) with decorated the tables, lol. We all came prepared with sweets! Booyah!

The biggest news of the event was the reveal of a spin-off series of the Covenant, the Titan series, which will focus on Seth and a mystery mortal girl. The first book is called The Return and it is set to be released February 2015 (why the long wait!!!!). Trust me, the fans were all squealing and jumping with excitement over this news. Keep in mind that the picture below is not the official cover, but it is pretty, isn’t it?

I just love that these fans came dressed in Sentinel gear. Way to represent, Philly!

Check out BG1 reppin’ Deity Island and Jen showing off the Covenant kusudama flower ball I made for her using all her Covenant series covers.

BG1 loves going to Jen’s events and is such a big help, she’s Jen’s “special little helper”. She really pulled through and helped pass out SHP stuff, kept things in order for Jen, and was the most adorable little fangirl, if I don’t say so myself.

Easily my favorite moment of the night. Now I’m not a mushy girl, but when Jen hugged me all lovingly, I just about melted inside. She loves me! She really loves me! Lol.

You gotta love the fabulous Kate Kaynak from SHP. She’s so nice and fun. I haven’t met many people in the publishing world, but I’m sure it’s hard to find someone as genuine and thoughtful as her.

The hubbi keeps mentioning how I know so many “Jens” and I love it! Here I am with Jen, Jena, and (my BFF) Jenny.

Yay! Teresa from Readers Live a Thousand Lives came! Love her!

My sweet little cousin, who I got hooked on JLA, showed up, too!

And the lovely Hannah from Irish Banana came with Jen (and Jess from Step into Fiction).

I met a few other bloggers, too, who I know online, but finally met in person. if only we had taken a group blogger picture!

Afterwards, we all had dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Jen got to sit with some lucky fans while us bloggers just chatted about books and life. Oh, and enjoy the cake, of course!

This event looks like it was so much fun!! I wish I could’ve gone. I just finished reading Sentinel a few days ago (I LOVED IT). Now I want to go back and re-read the books haha. The reveal about Seth getting his own spin-off is such a surprise but I’m really excited about it. As much as I love Aiden, I always had a soft spot for Seth too and I can’t wait to see what happens to him next.

Anyways, great pictures and awesome job on the cake!!
