One Line: Loved seeing these two characters fight their attraction!
About the Book: I crossed a line with my boss and there’s no taking it back.
Not that I’d want to.
You see… Matt Connover? Well, he’s something else. Strong, magnetic, sexy as hell… but yeah, he’s still my boss.
What am I doing? Why is he so irresistible to me? Maybe it’s because I finally saw a different side to him. I saw, for a brief moment, that Matt is vulnerable, possibly damaged. Is it wrong that it makes him even sexier in my opinion?
I’m in deep and I don’t see any way out.
I don’t want to find a way out.
I want to find a way for both of us to stay involved in these Legal Affairs.
I was dying to see how Matt and McKayla would handle things after what happened in Objection. These two definitely have a lot of chemistry, but what I also loved was how well they worked together. McKayla is awesome for sticking it to Matt, keeping things very professional and not fawning over him, despite how tempting he can be. I love a good, strong woman. Matt is doing his very best to remain aloof and he can be quite the insensitive jerk sometimes. You keep thinking he’s only in it for the physical relationship, but things slowly start to unravel and I can tell he’s got some feeling for McKayla that run deeper than just sex. But, boy is there some tastefully done scenes to keep you entertained though.
Bennett definitely drew me in with these characters after the first installment, and I liked that she kept the energy and entertainment going through this one, too. I was never bored, although, granted, it was very short so it’s hard to be bored, but I genuinely love their story and Bennett’s writing. There’s a reason she’s one of my favorite authors! I’ll tell you, by the end she had me begging to see what would happen next! Sure it’s only a couple of weeks, but that’s still torture for me with this engaging and page-turning story!
