When one touch isn’t enough, why resist?Road trips are supposed to be fun. Or, at least, full of hot sex. For photographer Lilly Grayson, the fifteen-hour drive to her friend’s wedding with Nate Jennings will be neither. Not that Nate isn’t sexy—the man is six-foot-three-inches of mouth-watering Marine. But Lilly’s been there, done that…and he walked away. Now it’s time for a little payback. The kind that’ll make a man desperate for a taste of what he can’t have.
And Nate wants a taste—so badly that he can barely keep his hands on the wheel. But the scars and ghosts of his last tour still haunt him. He can’t give into temptation, not this time. Lilly deserves a whole man—one who can love her the way she deserves to be loved, even if she doesn’t believe it can happen. And that can’t be Nate. Not when he’s leaving again in two weeks, and this time, he’s not sure he’ll return…
I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
One Line: Another scorching hit from Nicolette Day that I simply devoured!
In My Opinion: Add to cart!
Tempted by the Soldier had me glued to the pages. I loved it! Not only is Day’s writing engaging and fun, her characters are so entertaining. The scorch factor was definitely high here, too and was funny seeing these two fight their attraction to one another. I think Day handled the struggles of an ex-soldier very well, it wasn’t too dark and gritty, but it also captured the reality of the situation and I really felt for Nate.
What I loved most about this book were the characters and the dialogue. Nate and Lilly had some outrageous banter and some of the thoughts that went through their minds, especially Lilly, were downright hysterical. Lilly is one feisty, quick-witted gal and I loved that she could go head-to-head with Nate despite what he made her feel. I could live off the back-and-forth banter between these two! You can’t help but get pulled in with characters like these.
Nicolette definitely has a hit on her hands with this series and this book doesn’t disappoint. It was great seeing a bit of Jase and Hayden here, too. This one definitely goes down as one of my favorite Brazens and all romance readers will enjoy this one, for sure!
