As the Bump Grows: Week 18

March 24, 2014 As the Bump Grows, Pregnancy 4

It’s the week I’ve been waiting for! I’m seriously counting down to Thursday and that’s pretty much all I’ve been thinking about since I made the appointment. I’ve also been fixated on baby/pregnancy items and home decor for some reason. Nesting instincts, maybe?

And now for the belly shot:

I don’t think my belly size has changed much in the last couple of weeks. I actually went shopping today though and bought a few maxi dresses because with this being a summer pregnancy, I’m sure that’s all I’ll want to be wearing. I’m still waiting for the squishy part at the bottom of my belly to get firmer.

Baby Size: About the size of a “Bell Pepper” – 5.5in, 7oz
Gender: Unknown, but hopefully we’ll find out on THURSDAY!
Movement: I’m starting to feel little flutters and tiny kicks so YAY!!!
Weight Gained: Looks like I gained back those two pounds I lost from the previous week, haha.
New Pregnancy Symptoms: The pelvic pain & back aches are starting to increase. Nothing else new though.
Cravings/Aversions: I actually had a craving for salad for a couple days last week, which, if you know me, is pretty weird! As far as aversions, it’s funny because my husband just found a tub of Double Bubble gum in the back of the pantry (not yet expired) and he and BG1 started chewing it recently and I swear, I cannot stand that smell at all! Ugh!
Sleep Changes: Starting to toss and turn more because of the pelvic & back pains.
How I’m Feeling: Still a little bit of anxiety, but not as sad as I was feeling last week. I think I’ve been feeling more content this week, if anything.
Anything Else: Even though my appetite has definitely returned, I’m still pretty bored with food in general and don’t each much of anything. I’m a little mad that my belly doesn’t look all cute and pretty like some women can pull off. I have those dumb “love handles” that makes my belly look more fat than pregnant, plus, it doesn’t look so good from the back, haha. Just me being all nit-picky, but still.

Thanks for following along on this journey with me. See you next week!
