Things are off, and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Some things, however, are the same. For example, the sex with Matt is just as nuclear and consistent as it always has been.

Still… I feel like I’m holding onto Matt with my fingertips, like he’s on the verge of slipping away and I don’t know what to do.

When I started these Legal Affairs, I had no way of knowing the depth of feeling that would become involved. I had no way of knowing this man could shatter my existence.

I don’t want to be hurt, so I’m grasping hard and I can only hope that he wants me enough to hang on just as tight.

I received this book for free from The Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Also in this series: Mitigation, Reparation, Confessions of a Litigation God, Friction
Also by this author: Off Chance, Forever Young, If I Return, On the Rocks, Mitigation, Reparation, Make it a Double, Confessions of a Litigation God, Sugar on the Edge, Alex, With a Twist, Garrett, Shaken, Not Stirred, Clash, Grind, Yield, Zack, Wicked Fall, Ryker, Friction, Hawke, Jilted

One Line: A strong finish to a very addicting serial romance!

In My Opinion: Must. Read. NOW!

Affirmation was everything I wanted it to be and so much more! Here we have Matt, still on the fence, being his usual jerky self (but with appeal) and Mac, who has grown so much throughout the story and has easily become one of my favorite female characters. Things are pretty much up in the air for them and their relationship since Mac wants more and Matt is unwilling to go there. This one definitely tugs at your emotions and having invested so much into these characters and this story, the way things ended made it all worth it.

Matt made me want to tackle him for what he put both him and Mac through while he was battling his demons and even though I understood and sympathized with the guy, he definitely pushed my buttons. Mac, on the other hand, has gotten more and more awesome and I loved how, despite her feelings for Matt, won’t accept anything less than what she deserves and knows she deserves greatness. I also loved that Mac is slowly becoming more confident as a lawyer and makes great strides to further her career in this last installment. While I wasn’t too keen on the new obstacle they had to face this time, stupid Matt, I liked what it did for their dynamic and it really helped kick things into gear for them.

And that ending?! Sigh, I love how Bennett doesn’t hold anything back and really ends this story with a BANG! Even when it was over, I just couldn’t get enough. This is definitely one of my favorite books from her and a favorite romance read in general.

I am so sad to see this book end and I really hope Bennett writes more books like this. Since this was my first time reading a serial romance, I have to say, while the waiting sucks, the actual experience is pretty fun! Seriously, whether you’re a fan of Bennett’s or not, you’ll want to give this book a try. One read and you’ll never be the same again!
