With the Prime Destinations body bank destroyed, Callie no longer has to rent herself out to creepy Enders. But Enders can still get inside her mind and make her do things she doesn't want to do. Like hurt someone she loves. Having the chip removed could save Callie's life - but it could also silence the voice in her head that might belong to her father. Callie has flashes of her ex-renter Helena's memories, too ...and the Old Man is back, filling her with fear. Who is real and who is masquerading in a teen body? This is the thrilling sequel to "Starters".
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
One Line: Plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested!
In My Opinion: Worth a try!
I loved Starters and have been dying to read Enders to see how it all ends. While this book is filled with plenty of action, a few surprises, and a pretty decent ending. As much as I enjoyed the story and Price’s writing, there was something missing this time around, that spark that I felt in the first book. I can’t exactly pinpoint what it was, but the first half did drag for me a bit. I will say that it’s best to read these two right after one another because I was pretty clueless for much of the first half of the book. I totally forgot what happened in Starters and it took me a minute to remember those events and these characters.
I was kind of sad that there wasn’t much romance in this book. Yes, I know that’s not what this is about, but with everything that happened between Callie, Michael, and “Blake”, I was just hoping for more. You get a bit of progression with it, just not enough in my opinion.
Anyways, I did like how Price kept us guessing throughout the book. Just when you think you know what the characters are going to do, things come to the surface, secrets are revealed, and you’re put through the ringer. You really have to pay attention to the plot, as there’s quite a lot going on, and once you figure it all out, it’s pretty awesome.
Price is a fun and engaging writer and I really liked this world she created. While this didn’t hold the same appeal as the first book, its twists and turns can keep you more than interested. If you’ve read Starters you’ll definitely want to see how it all ends.
