I have to say, one of the most annoying and long-standing symptoms I’ve had to deal with during this pregnancy involves the tatas.
Oh sure, they’re all sexy and fun when they go up a cup size at the beginning, but when they start feeling heavy and pretty much getting in the way, it begins to be a bit frustrating. Now, I’ve always had big boobs, for an Asian girl (C cups), and when I’m pregnant, they get bigger, naturally, but I’ve managed to just use the bras I had and they weren’t such a bother. Now though, considering I was a bit bigger pre-pregnancy and was starting to move into the D cup category, when I got pregnant, they were pretty much super-sized. I’ve always had the “bigger is better” mentality (to a certain extent) because I think curves look great on a woman, but I’m starting to think these bigger boobs just aren’t for me.
I was perfectly happy with my Cs and considering the Hubbi isn’t much of a boob man, so the fact that they’re Ds, which will possibly become double Ds when I deliver, isn’t such a “win win” situation for me. I don’t know about you, but I’m a little put off that you can see my boobs come through the door like 5 minutes before you see me, you know what I’m saying?!
But really, it’s not the size that bothers me though, its the aches and pains.
Every once and awhile I’ll get these sharp pains in one or both breasts that makes me wanna rip them right off! Not to mention how incredibly sore and sensitive they were during the first trimester. Man, I just wanted to put some police tape on there so no one and nothing would get anywhere near it! I swear, it’s like I’m getting shot in the boob each time. Sounds like fun, right?!
And the worse part, the mother of all crappy symptoms – itchy boobs!
Lord have mercy on me, the itchiness just won’t let up. My poor areolas are looking mighty pitiful all scratched up and scarred. I’ve tried lotions and when it gets really bad, my trusty Aquaphor, but nothing ever makes it completely better. It’s especially bad when I’ve been wearing a bra for the whole day. Towards the end of the day, I start getting that feeling, and when I take it off, man do I go to town on them! I know, I shouldn’t scratch, but you know how it is when you have an itch. It’s basically like having hives on your boobs every day. Oh, what a glorious feeling indeed.
I really don’t think I experienced itching with my other pregnancies, or if I did, it was minimal. Guess this one really wants me to experience all the joys pregnancy has to offer.
Don’t even get me started on the TMI subjects like stretch marks, leakage, and areola sizes here. Unless you want me to…
So if any of you ladies have or are going through the same thing, I feel your pain! Did anything help for you?
