She’s the one that got away. He’s the one she can’t forget.

Photojournalist Christine Forsythe is ready to tackle her naughty little to-do list, and who better to tap for the job than a hot groomsman? But when she crashes into her best friend’s older brother, Christine realizes her list needs updating. And fast. Tyler Dresco took her virginity during the best night of her life, then bolted. Now that they’re trapped together at a destination wedding, she’s going to get her revenge.

Tyler has never forgiven himself for how completely he lost control all those years ago. Being in Christine’s arms had felt right…until he realized what he’d taken from her in the hallway of a cheap motel. And oh, how she’s making him pay for it now. The insatiable heat between them has only grown stronger, but every time things heat up, Christine walks away.

With every encounter, things go a little bit further until Christine’s caught in her own trap of seduction. And before their time’s up, Tyler’s not the only one wanting more…

With this one, you’ve got a second chance love story of sorts. I really enjoyed watching Tyler and Christine fall in love with each other. They had a good amount of tension, drama, and romance without it being over the top. I loved their dialogue, it was very comical and sweet. They definitely balanced each other out and watching them, especially Christine, deny their feelings for each other was fun.

As far as the writing goes, this would probably be one of the better ones from Alberts. I’ve always been content with her books. I don’t overly love them, but I don’t dislike them. They’re just okay for me. This one, though, I think with the overall plot and background characters, I really liked how everything worked out. I think as far as drama goes, this couple had the biggest, or most public, blowout, but it was entertaining and I enjoyed seeing it play out and how it all resolved itself in the end.

He’ll own her from the very first touch.

Julie Piper and Reed Lawson have nothing in common. She’s a people-pleasing sorority girl hiding behind her perfect mask. He’s a take-no-prisoners SWAT commander who isolates himself from the world. But when they’re forced together at their friends’ posh destination wedding, one thing is clear—Reed wants Julie more than he wants his next breath. Which is why he’s not about to stand by when she’s dared to seduce another man.

Julie wants neat, tidy sex, so she could get back to what she does best—making everybody else happy. She never expected to slip into a dark bedroom and have her mind blown by rough, demanding hands, and a sinfully filthy mouth—neither of which belong to the best man.

One night should have been all Reed needed to get the blond temptress out of his system, but when one taste is nowhere near enough, he’ll be forced confront the effects of his hellish past. One that may push Julie away forever...just when he realizes he can't live without her.

Oh, Tessa. How I love your dark and brooding men with a kinky side. Ugh! I swear, she can do no wrong! Reed and Julie’s romance is all about the attraction and heat. I loved Reed’s dirty mouth, I mean it is Tessa Bailey of course, and Julie’s reactions to them. Their “chance” romantic encounter where Julie thought Reed was someone else was so steamy and sexy. I loved seeing Julie deny it and watching it all fall to pieces. Bailey is great with the dialogue and there’s no exception here. I loved how these two battled it out verbally. They were definitely a nice balance to each other.

I will say I wish there was more depth to Reed and Julie. You get more of Julie and her problems in this and while you do get information of Reed’s past, there’s no exploration or resolution of it like I was hoping. I really wanted to get to know Reed more on a personal level, even Julie, too, but this book focused on their attraction and them ultimately giving in to it for the most part. Still a good read with plenty of sexy times, but there was definitely something missing that I come to love and expect from one of Bailey’s books.

She has a plan. He’s about to change it.

Regan Wakefield is a headhunter in both name and personality: driven, motivated, and unafraid to pursue what—and who—she wants. Naturally, she’s thrilled when her friend's wedding offers her an opportunity to score Logan McCade, the practically perfect best man. Unfortunately, groomsman Brock McNeil keeps getting in her way, riling her up in the most delicious of ways. But Brock’s smooth southern charm isn't part of the plan...so how exactly did they end up having searing-hot sex?

Regan may pretend the erotic electricity sparking between them is merely a distraction, but Brock knows better. She refuses to see beyond the devil-may-care façade he presents to the world, while he sees straight through hers. Changing her mind—and getting under her skin—is a challenge he can’t resist. And when he wins, Brock will do whatever it takes to convince Regan that the best man for her is him.

While I liked Reagan and Brock as individual characters, together they weren’t my favorite couple. They were okay, but nothing too special. I loved Brock’s Southern charm and I felt for him, always being compared to his brother and never feeling like he was worth anything. I thought Reagan was decent in her own right, too, but what bugged me about her was how long it took her to see Brock for who he really was, and what it took for her to finally realize it. It was obvious she was falling for him despite that, but to use that as the big “push” didn’t really do it for me.

I’ve always been kind of on the fence with Robert and her writing. I’ve read a few and they never really wowed me or anything. There was just always something missing from her books. But, I still enjoy them nonetheless. I think it’s just that her characters tend to fall way too fast without much drama and tension. And the drama seems forced or just unnecesary to me. Things are a little bit amped up here in this setting, but otherwise, it was pretty low key compared to the other couples.

How far can one favor go…

Logan McCade arrives at his best friend’s wedding overworked and in desperate need of a vacation, only to discover his best man duties have been…expanded. He must coax Colton’s sister out of her shell, or risk her hiding in her room all week. Logan figures he can handle one introverted bridesmaid, but he’s not expecting how much he enjoys “handling” Sophie…or how much she enjoys being handled.

Socializing has never been web designer Sophie Brooks’s strong suit, but she’s determined to shed her wallflower image and embrace the “New Sophie”—a feat made easier with the supremely sexy Logan McCade tempting her to explore all her forbidden fantasies. If she’s not careful, she just might fall for the best man.

Sophie’s sweet, sexy, and delectably awkward demeanor brings much-needed calm to Logan’s hectic life. With the nuptials only days away, Logan is forced to face the possibility that his favor to a friend might have become something else entirely…and that he’s not willing to let Sophie go. Ever.

I simply adored this one. Maybe it’s because I’ve read and loved all of Beck’s books, but this one was definitely a winner for me. I loved that we get yet another McCade! And we even catch a small glimpse of his brothers! Sweet! I loved Logan. He was a great male lead and definitely swoonworthy. He’s one of those successful, handsome types. Sophie was a bit too shy and introverted for me. I couldn’t wait for her to step outside the box and just be more comfortable, and it didn’t happen exactly how I wanted, but it was still good. I was just surprised how timid and reserved she was, despite being around people she’s known for years. I did like how she let go when she was alone with Logan though. There’s this one scene that is so sinfully funny, I couldn’t help but smile the whole time. I reveled in it!

There isn’t that much in the way of drama with these two, but they do fight off their feelings for each other for awhile and that’s always fun to watch. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed Beck’s writing and she gave these two characters vibrancy and interesting personalities, making it quite the fun read. It was definitely my second favorite of the series. And I loved that epilogue!

When I first found out Brazen was doing this continuity series featuring five amazing Brazen authors, I couldn’t wait to read them all and see how this series flowed together. I loved how seamlessly everything fit and despite each author’s very different writing style, they managed to create an entertaining and sexy series with irresistible characters and varied plot points. It was like I was watching a fun movie!

While each could easily be read as a stand alone, I read each in order because it just worked best for me that way. I like order. Anyways, like I said, I liked delving in deeper into each couple’s relationship, but I especially loved the moments when everyone was together and being able to witness a scene from multiple perspectives. This was definitely a first for me, reading this type of series, and I really enjoyed it.
