As the Bump Grows: Week 33

July 7, 2014 As the Bump Grows, Pregnancy 2

Back home with the family this week, finally. I can’t wait to get through with this test, and hopefully pass, and then get ready for the baby. I’ve seriously been itching to start cleaning up the house and setting things up.

And now for the belly shot:

Whoa, that bump is surely getting bigger and bigger, isn’t it?

Baby Size: About the weight of a Pineapple – 4.5lbs, 17in.
Gender: Girl
Movement: She’s still going strong. There are moments when I feel like she should be moving, but she isn’t, and I get freaked out of course (I’m a worry wart), but then she eventually kicks or moves around.
Weight Gained: 2lbs
New Pregnancy Symptoms: Well, the hives haven’t been making an appearance this week, which is great. My feet have stayed swollen though and sometimes, at the end of the day, they really hurt when I walk on them (too much pressure). I also think it’s kind of funny when the Hubs or BG1 massages my feet and they press into my legs, which leaves an indent because they’re so swollen. I’ve also been feeling more itchy around the belly, which means more stretch marks. Oh joy!
Cravings/Aversions: A lot of sweets for some reason. I’ll have ice cream, cookies, chocolate, whatever! Totally not good for me, but I crave them!
Sleep Changes: Since I’m home, I decided to give laying down another chance and surprisingly the pelvic pain hasn’t been as intense. I have to position my Snoogle (pregnancy pillow) in a certain way and prop other pillows around me for support, the Hubbi has to help me out of bed most mornings, and it takes me a minute to actually stand up and I walk really slow and steady, but it’s not too bad. Totally manageable, if you can believe that, lol. I might switch it up and sleep on my butt one night and then on my side another night to give certain parts of my body a break. Honestly, all that sleeping sitting up was really making my butt numb, especially since I’m sitting down all day studying.
How I’m Feeling: Definitely still stressed about this test, but besides that I feel happy to be home. I’m anxious about the baby though, but also excited. So basically, I’m a mix of emotions.
Anything Else: I’m a little worried about my left foot right now. I bumped/bruised it when we went to Dutch Wonderland at the end of May and it hasn’t been right since. Now, when my feet swell, that one side where I bruised it stays flat. And it’s a bit discolored. I think it makes my ankle swell more because the fluid can’t go into that part of my foot, which is why that ankle has been hurting more, but I hope I didn’t break anything or whatnot. Hoping the doctor can tell me something about it.

Thanks for following along on this journey with me. See you next week!
