So this week was another worrisome one for me. BG3 has been eating less, only taking roughly 15-19 ounces a day. She spits up a little on occasion and had a couple full vomit episodes, but for the most part, it hasn’t been a mess like with BG2, but still. This girl definitely has gas problems. We are constantly burping her, and I swear, it looks like the gas is causing her pain by her facial expressions and her arching her back and getting all fussy. She also passes gas a lot. I mean, it’s good she’s able to get it out, so I welcome whatever gas comes out which ever end. I’m just worried about what she can’t get out.
It’s particularly stressful when it comes to feeding, because even though she seems hungry, she often gets fussy and cries out in what I think is pain, along with plenty of belly noises. As much as I want to bring this up with the pediatrician, I know he’d just say as long as she’s peeing and pooping okay, and she’s staying hydrated, then there’s nothing to worry about. Even my mom says not to worry too much about her intake because my niece barely took in half of what BG3 is taking in now and she’s fine. And while I’m still worried about her intake, I’m more concerned with her gas issues and how to help her. It definitely breaks my heart to see her so uncomfortable.
I don’t know. If she continues to fuss, I just might have to give him a call and see what he can recommend for gas relief besides burping her, keeping her upright, and “bicycle legs”. I know I could try gas relief drops, but I think it’s a bit too early for that. Sigh, you would think this was my first kid with how worried I am, but then again, I worry no matter what and either way, she’s my baby and I hate seeing her unhappy.
