Things have been a little better this week. I think we’re finally getting into a groove and BG3 is settling into life and all that jazz. She’s definitely more alert and awake, but still sleeps a lot and I can tell she needs it. She’s not much of a long napper during the day, most likely because of her reflux, but she sleeps pretty well at night. I was a little worried other people wouldn’t be able to handle her because I needed my SIL to watch her one day while I was apart of a wedding and I left for MD this week, so she’s been at the sitter’s house, but things have been pretty good. It’s still a struggle to feed her, but she’s hasn’t been all that crazy.
So the doctor said the milk scan showed some reflux, but nothing too bad. He recommended we try some cereal in her milk and to keep her upright, obviously. So far, there hasn’t been much of a change in her intake, but we actually took her in to be weighed today and she gained 13 ounces in the last 17 days. It’s nothing impressive, but the important thing is she’s not losing weight or staying still. I guess we’ll just have to make peace with the fact that she doesn’t eat a lot.
This week has been pretty rough since I’ve been away from the baby, but luckily this rotation is pretty flexible with its schedule and I’ll actually be going home tonight for a three-day weekend. The schedule is a little different each week, but overall, it looks good and I’m happy I’ll be able to see my kids every week still.
But anyways, BG3 has been smiling more and cooing more, which totally melts my heart. I love it! She makes the cutest/funniest faces and it’s fun to be able to interact with her more and more every day. I can’t wait until she starts laughing.
