BG3 celebrated her first Christmas by getting her head shaved! Lol. Yeah, it was time to get rid of all that hair and let the new hair grow in. In case you didn’t know, it’s an Asian tradition to shave a baby’s head after a few months to get rid of all that hair they had while in the womb. I discussed in more detail in BG2’s head shaving post, if you want to check that out.
We also pierced her ears this week, it was a BIG week for BG3! I like to wait until around 4 months before I pierce their ears, but yeah, it’s another thing I’m accustomed to in my culture to pierce a baby’s ears.
Another new thing is that we’ve tried introducing a bit of baby food to BG3. It’s not the American kind, it’s basically a flour mixed with water and a broth infused with veggies and protein. I should do a post on it. So far, she’s only had a couple nibbles. I haven’t been pushing it on her because I want her to rely on her formula more, since that is the most important thing. Speaking of, we just switched out all the 4oz bottles to 9oz bottles because, thankfully, she’s been taking in more ounces per feeding. Before, I would have to have two bottles ready at a time, so I thought it was time to switch. Here’s hoping things will only increase and she’ll gain more weight.
Quite a bit of changes!
Aside from all that, I’ve noticed BG3 has been up a lot more. And as long as you hold her, she takes pretty decent naps. Sure that leaves me little time to get anything done during the day, but at least she’s napping. There have definitely been more calm, happy awake times during the day. She’s also been drooling like crazy! We’re going through bibs like nobody’s business and that girl will not will keep her hands out of her mouth. I think she’s reached the beginnings of the teething stage because she noms on everything she can get her hands on. Oh, and I love watching her reach out to grab things, it’s so cute. She’s racking up those milestones with a quickness! Sniff. Sniff.
