Bookish Events: The Boldly Bookish Tour

June 20, 2015 Bookish Events 2

So, the lovely ladies of the Boldly Bookish tour: Tiffany Schmidt, Trish Doller, AC Gaughen, and Emery Lord visited Books of Wonder last week and I decided to stop by and actually meet them all. I’ve met Tiffany a few times in the past, but I’ve been a fan of Trish’s for awhile and I wanted to meet Emery.

I have yet to read anything by Tiffany, which I know, makes me terrible, but I do have her latest release, Hold Me Like a Breath, which I want to check out soon. She totally cracked me up with her stories about how she’s deathly afraid of the sight of blood and how accommodating people, namely her students, are in making sure she never sees a drop. I loved Trish’s The Devil You Know, so it was awesome meeting her and letting her know that even though it wasn’t meant to be a thriller, I saw it as such and I loved it as such. I didn’t really talk to AC as I hadn’t heard of her or her books before, but she seems pretty cool from the Q&A. Emery was such a doll and so hilarious. She certainly sold me on her book, Open Road Summer, with this line:

How could I not get the book after that description?

I kept meaning to get around to one of her books, but I never got the chance. I ended up buying ORS and her latest novel, The Start of Me & You. I LOVE the cover for her upcoming novel, When We Collided, and I’d totally add it to the shelves just for the look alone. I’m excited to give them both a read and I really hope I like them, as you all know how I get with YA Contemporary. It’s crazy how picky I can get with this genre, but I’m still open to it, hoping to find the gems.

Afterwards, since it was indeed my birthday, Alexa and Rachel were kind enough to take me out and spend some time together. It’s always fun hanging out with these ladies and I hope I get to do it again while I’m in the NYC area.

Here’s my live-tweets from that night. These ladies certainly had some interesting things to say. Q&A sessions are always fun and a good way to learn more about the authors.
