Wow! So hard to believe that this is the last entry in BG3’s photo diary. The first year is practically over. Tomorrow my baby will officially be ONE YEAR OLD. Oh, Father Time, why must you be so bittersweet?!
BG3 has been one heck of a wild, amazing, hilarious, frustrating, temperamental, lovable, and unique child. As difficult as this year has been, I wouldn’t change it. She pushed me to my limits as a newborn mother in ways my first two never did, but she also showed me how much more love I was able to give. I always find myself holding onto her a little bit longer, kissing her a little bit more, and just staring at her any chance I get. The girl lights up my life and puts a smile on my face every day and I couldn’t be happier to be her mother.
As for the milestones, I was hesitant to say anything before because even though she did it, it was tentative and shaky, but she has indeed been walking for over a week now. She’s still not confident to walk fully on her own, but she takes a few steps here and there every day. I consider that on par with her sisters, for sure. I’m so excited and impatient to finally stop using formula and transition her to cow’s milk. She is always willing to try any kind of food offered to her. Her favorite snacks include Honey Nut Cheerios, Apple Jacks, crackers, and Cha. The girl loves chicken, rice, and noodles. She’s also got a bit of a sweet tooth for ice cream.
She enjoys screaming matches & bumping foreheads with BG1, patting BG2’s big head, pulling books from my shelves, throwing my phone on the floor, and drooling all over everything. She says “mama”, “dada”, “ba” (bye), “Sa” (Alyssa), “Nayna” (her name). She loves getting her ears rubbed and hair brushed. She mostly attached to me and her babysitter/nanny, but she loves her Daddy and her sisters in different ways. She can pull off a cute fist bump and she puts on the cutest little pout when she knows she’s in trouble or she wants to get attention.
All this and so much more. My sweet, adorable, crazy little Alayna.
I am seriously going to miss the newborn/infant phase, but I’m excited for what’s to come.
