Ah, The Big Bang Theory, how I’ve missed you. It’s been over 8 long, hilarious years. After that kicker of a season finale, I was definitely itching to see what would happen between Sheldon and Amy. I actually just watched this and although it wasn’t particularly humor-filled, there were still classic moments that made me chuckle. Sheldon is still oblivious and self-centered. I can’t help but love that guy. But, perhaps the bigger issue is that between Penny and Leonard. Can’t those two ever just have a smooth path? Yes, drama makes for good television, but I’d like to go one season without worrying whether or not they’re going to break up.
Fresh Off the Boat charmed me last season and I’m happy it’s back for another. You know I have to support a Primetime show with an Asian cast, but thankfully, it’s actually funny and relatable, so I have good reason to like it. I’m hoping they’ll keep up the momentum and bring fresh, funny content. I want at least a few seasons out of this show so mainstream Hollywood, and the US, can get used to Asians as leading actors.
This is a fledgling of a show, but I can’t help but love Blackish. Anthony Anderson is hilarious and the kids are too adorable. I love the humor they put on a bunch of stereotypes and how they play it up.
Never one to jump on the bandwagon when the hype is at an all-time high, I never got into Modern Family until over a year ago. I just wasn’t interested, for no particular reason. But, I finally got around to checking out some reruns and I fell in love. Such a quirky cast of characters and I’m so excited to see what they’ll go next. My favorite character is Cam, cracks me up all the time. Of course, I’m a sucker for Phil, too, and he reminds me so much of the Hubs, I can’t help but love it.
TGIT is a great night of TV, but even though I’m still going to watch Grey’s Anatomy, I’m pretty much over it. Sometimes, a show just needs to end already. In any case, I’m a big fan of How to Get Away With Murder. Viola Davis is amazing and I love a good crime/mystery show. I’m happy that while they built up the mystery last season, they didn’t make viewers wait FOREVER (like some other devious shows *ahem* PLL) to get real answers. And I like how they incorporated yet another mystery/crime into the plot to keep the show going. I’ll definitely be paying close attention to this show.
Other shows I’m addicted to include Switched at Birth, which has already started (ABC Family has a very weird schedule) and The Walking Dead, which doesn’t start until October. I also want to give some other shows a try, like Outlander, The 100, Orange is the New Black, and Veep. I also want to watch all the old seasons of Scandal so I can watch the new episodes. I jumped into it mid-season last year and totally don’t get what’s going on. I also want to give The Mysteries of Laura another try, too.
What shows are you excited about/addicted to? Any I should check out?
