I’ve had this app for years and I love it. It’s so simple and basically fades into the background, but it does its job well. What it does is makes sure your computer doesn’t go to sleep. I know, people set timers and all that to make their computers go to sleep after some time, but I’m constantly on my computer, or I need it to always be on, so I needed something to make sure it doesn’t accidentally go to sleep mode or shut off on me. When I am done with the computer, I just shut it, so it does get some sleep (like when I do), but otherwise I want it to stay on, whether or not I’m active on it.
A lot of the time, especially with YABC giveaways, I have to constantly resize pictures. I needed something that would do that for me really quickly and with as little hassle as possible. It’s so easy to use: just drag a photo in the window, click on the Size button & put in your dimensions, then Save. It definitely comes in handy when I have like 10 giveaways to schedule in a row and they continue to send me photo files that are TOO big for the YABC server (ARGH!!). In any case, I know there are a ton of other functions, but I haven’t had the chance to explore them just yet.
Easily my most favorite app on my laptop, Jumpcut is a godsend and I wouldn’t be able to function right without it. Not only do I need to do a lot of Copy+Paste when it comes to scheduling YABC giveaways, but it definitely helps whenever I need to C&P in general. I love that it can remember up to 99 C&P entries and it’s so easy to use. Simply copy whatever text you want, click on the icon and your “clipboard list” pops up, ready for you to paste to your heart’s content. If you ever need to clear your list, that can be done as well. It copies all kinds of text, including HTML, so that’s a plus. It’s also lightweight, which is great, because I hate apps that have too much junk that you don’t really need.
So, what are some essential applications on your computer?
