Pens are the life-line of any planner girl and it’s crazy how much I’m obsessed with them lately. For the inaugural post into this feature, I thought I’d showcase one my favourite set of pens. I came across this purely by chance actually, as my Hubs raided my SIL’s pen stash and took this set of pens from her. I thought they looked cool and decided to give them a try and now I’m in love.
The Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pens are kind of like markers, but not really. They write smoothly with a fine point style. They’re perfect for paper planning, as they can write on regular paper without bleeding through and they can write on sticker paper. On glossy sticker paper, it takes a minute to dry, but still in less time than with similar pens I’ve used.
You can obviously tell that the point is a bit thicker than a regular pen, so that’s why I say it’s a cross between a pen and marker. For my planner purposes, I use this to write my time cards for work, as I put in stickers to denote when I clock in and out. I also like to use this to sort of make a word or to-do BOLD, since it’ll stand out more than what I’d write with a regular pen. It’s this set, and another that I will feature next time, that I use on a regular basis. My go-to pens!
My only complaint with this set is the yellow pen. That color does not show up well on any paper I’ve tried so far. I guess I don’t use the color yellow much in general, but still, I’d like the option. In any case, this is a set of pens that I know I will continue to purchase as I need them. It’s a bit pricey, this particular set usually runs around $15 at Target, but so worth it for a planner or writing nerd.
I want to give their neon colors a try in the future, although I hope they don’t end up being like the yellow one and not showing up well.
Have any of your tried this set? What are some of your favorite pens?
