These Royals will ruin you…
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.
Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
She might be right.
Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.
I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
One Line: Not as captivating as the first, but still pretty good.
In My Opinion: Add to cart!
After I devoured Paper Princess, I really wanted to get right into Broken Prince and see where Ella’s story would head to next. Ella is still my favorite character by far, but Reed is starting to grow on me and even Easton has shown he has some redeeming qualities. The twins are ones that I can’t exactly pinpoint and I hope we get to know them more in the last book. The story line didn’t grab my attention as much as the first book did, but it wasn’t bad. The Royals definitely weren’t as bad and I could see more of a united family, especially against Brooke and some of the messed up kids at their school. And while I said that I like the Royals a lot more now, this story is more about Ella and her journey as opposed to the romance and whatever the Royals are up to.
Don’t get me wrong, that drama is still on high with this book, so I loved those moments. Brooke and Jordan really work my nerves and it’s interesting to see how their lives intertwine with the Royals, Jordan to a lesser extent than Brooke, but still important all the same. We also got to know Callum a bit more and I genuinely feel for him and how he’s trying his best. I also loved that this one was told in both Ella and Reed’s POVs.
Overall, it was a decent sequel, but yes, not as captivating as the first book. However, the authors sure do know how to keep their readers coming back for me though, because that ending?! Whoa!!! I did not see that coming! Ugh, I seriously need Book 3 like RIGHT NOW! I must know what happens next. If anything, these ladies know drama and they know how to tell a story. I’ll definitely be right there waiting for the last book very impatiently.
