For Mackenzie Cox, racing motorcycles is in her blood. Born into a family legacy, she's determined to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in this male-dominated sport. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonised by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Hayden, exceedingly arrogant and outrageously attractive, immediately gets under Kenzie's skin and she can't help but be distracted.
As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie needs a win, and she also needs to stay away from Hayden. Unfortunately for her though, one thing has become all too clear: she can't.
Fuelled by passion, driven by desire, Hayden and Mackenzie both want to win more than anything else. Except for, maybe, each other. But anger, jealousy and extreme competitiveness aren't their only obstacles . . .
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Also by this author: Thoughtful
One Line: Excellent chemistry and fast-paced racing fun.
In My Opinion: Add to cart!
I’ve been wanting to check out another book by Stephens ever since her Thoughtless series, which I have a love/hate relationship with. Thankfully, with this series, I ended up just loving it. The characters were great and I loved getting to know this motorcycle racing world that I had no idea about. It was so much fun!
Overall, I really liked Kenzie and Hayden, both together and separately. They have that love and passion for racing and it was nice seeing them spur each other on. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved watching them fall in love. Their banter was fun and I liked that they didn’t beat around the bush too much when it came to their feelings. There was some drama, of course, especially being that they’re from rival teams, but it wasn’t over the top, so I appreciated that.
I’m kind of hoping Stephens writes more from this world as I also liked the secondary characters and I’d totally love to revisit this world in the future. The pacing was pretty steady and the story line kept me interested. I really liked this one and would definitely recommend it.
